A Vision for Pleasant View

As Mayor, I will lead with compassion, collaboration and commitment with a focus on transparency, ethics, and fairness for all. I envision a city that preserves its suburban, bedroom-community charm while embracing thoughtful growth in appropriate commercial areas. By standardizing city operations and professionalizing our city's key partnerships, I will ensure that every decision is made with integrity and accountability — leaving our city stronger, more efficient, and better prepared for the future.

About Sara

I am a life-long resident of Pleasant View, the greatest city in Utah! I grew up here and I've raised a family of my own here. I've served the community in many ways as a reading aide to the city's youth at Lomond View Elementary and as a member of the City Council for ten years. I know the issues we've faced in the past as well as the ones we face in the present. More importantly, I know many of you. I know you love our city as much as I do and together, we can do great things!

Campaign Issues

Commercial Development

Pleasant View is open for business. Attracting more businesses to our city widens our tax base and keeps our citizen's taxes lower. More business means more revenue we can use to upgrade our aging infrastructure.

Infrastructure

We need to prioritize our aging infrastructure. Roads need repair and upgrading. Our culinary water supply can't be delivered where it's needed. While not the most "fun" way to spend our money, it's absolutely necessary to maintain our way of life.

Professionalism and Integrity

In our city's past many things got done with a handshake and wink. Park and city office facilities were constructed through such arrangements, and we've saved a lot of money and cut a lot of red tape along the way. But we've also sometimes been saddled with sloppy workmanship, which has later proven to be a financial burden on our taxpayers, and created headaches for our valued city works department. We need to professionalize the agreements we make with the people our city contracts with. We should insist on quality and value over the long run.

Community Engagement

Pleasant View is your city and mine. As mayor, I want you to have a voice. To that end I want open dialogue with members of the community. I would like to see focus groups formed to discuss city priorities and novel solutions that the city's residents can get behind.
